The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

24 Feb, 2012 by Emily Sawyers

City Palace, Udaipur

Here at TransIndus we are eagerly awaiting the release of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel film.

The romantic city of Udaipur, where the film is set, is one of our favourite cities and is very popular with clients too. It’s no wonder this impressive lake city receives such great feedback, with its imposing City Palace surrounded by tight, twisting streets lined with brightly coloured sari shops, cafes and restaurants. All of this set against the delightful backdrop of the rolling Aravalli hills.

Udaipur is no stranger to fame. The James Bond film, Octopussy was also filmed there and this year the city received the World’s Top City Wanderlust bronze award.

We can arrange for you to stay at the Ravla Khempur hotel where The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel film is set. However, there are many more beautiful Havelis dotted around Rajasthan that our specialists have personally visited and would highly recommend.

We look forward to watching the film this week!

TransIndus can arrange a private journey covering the Golden Triangle - Delhi, Agra and Jaipur - with the addition of 3 nights in Udaipur, staying at the Ravla Khempur, "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel".

See the stunning sights of India’s capital city Delhi, the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, and the Amber Fort and Jaipur Palace before experiencing the magical lake city of Udaipur. The highlight of this tour is a boat ride on Udaipur’s Pichola Lake and a candle lit dinner.

This 11 day journey is priced from £1359 per person sharing a twin/double room, including return flights from London to Delhi, accommodation with breakfast, and sightseeing and transfers. There is an option to upgrade to the luxury Oberoi Udai Vilas in Udaipur, where the stars of the film stayed, for £159 per person per night sharing.
