2011 has been a year of royal weddings. Hot on the heals of William and Katherine, thirty-one year old Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the world's youngest monarch married his true love, Jetsun Pema, on October 13.

The ceremony, at a 17th century monastery fortress in the ancient capital of Punakha, was awash with pomp and pageantry and the festivities which continued in the current capital, Thimpu, lasted for three days.
