Dr George Michell

Trained originally as an architect in Melbourne, Australia, George Michell went on to study Indian archaeology at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. George has headed various survey projects of historical monuments in India, notably Vijayanagara in southern India.

Among his many publications are: "The Penguin Guide to the Monuments of India", "Royal Palaces of India"; "Blue Guide Southern India", "Hindu Art and Architecture" and, most recently, "Palaces of Rajasthan".

Dr. Michell enjoys great popularity as a lecturer and has led several tours to northern India, Rajasthan and the fascinating Deccan
