Those inspired by the exotic charms of India in the hit British comedy The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, released last week, can follow in the characters’ footsteps on a special private journey. There is also the opportunity to choose between a stay at the Ravla Khempur, otherwise known as ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’, or upgrade to the uber luxury Oberoi Udai Vilas where the cast stayed during filming.
With an all-star line-up including Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Celia Imrie, Bill Nighy and Dev Patel, the film follows a group of retirees as they embark on an Indian adventure, which sees the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel guests' lives transformed by their experiences and the friendships they make. Though set in Bangalore, the film was actually shot in the beautiful lake-city of Udaipur and the pink city of Jaipur, and it showcases them at their very finest. Commenting, TransIndus MD Amrit Singh, said: “We are thrilled that this feel-good film looks set to entice many more visitors to India. India has so much to offer for all ages, not just those heading towards retirement, whether looking for an enriching experience, a whistle-stop tour of the famous sites, or an adventure to see the 'real' India.”
