Tours to Sigiriya (Lion Rock)

Sigiriya (Lion Rock) towers 200m over the surrounding plains and is easily one of Sri Lanka's most recognisable and visited attractions.

The sheer scale of the rock made for a formidable fortress but it was also the setting for a magnificent royal palace. As tough as the climb to the top may be it is well worth the effort. From the beautiful water gardens at the base, the steep climb takes visitors past the famous 5th century frescoes, through Lion Terrace and up to the summit where spectacular views across the countryside await.
