This is one of loveliest places to stay in Bhutan – perfect if you prefer modest local style to full-on luxury. Set amid lush farmland only minutes from Paro airport, the house looks like any substantial Bhutanese home, with a stone-lined entrance courtyard and wonderful maroon-pained, traditional carved windows fronting its rooms. TransIndus guests rave about the bathrooms, which have generous-sized tubs and under-floor heating, as well as the Pantagruellan meals, which are as beautifully presented as there are delicious.
