Experience the culture and variety of Japan, from bustling Tokyo to a stay at a Buddhist temple at Mount Koya.

This itinerary gives you a real experience of all Japan has to offer. Beginning in Tokyo the journey includes the shrines of Nikko, Mount Fuji, the timeless town of Takayama, the World Heritage Site of Shirakawago and the cultural heartland of the Kyoto region. It then continues to what is perhaps the highlight of this particular tour, a night staying in temple lodging at the Buddhist complex of Mount Koya, before finishing in the vibrant city of Osaka.

Travel Arrangements

You travel by yourself on a departure date of your choice.

International flights are on direct services. Flight time is approximately 12 hours. The internal travel is by bullet train, express train and coach.

Tour Accommodation

The accommodation used is a mixture of top class hotels with basic lodging at Mount Koya temple complex.

Meal Plan:Bed & breakfast, lunch on day 4 & 5, dinner on day 12.
Season:Traditionally March-May and September-November.
Clothes:Light sweaters and jackets are usually fine for much of spring and autumn. However it would be advisable to include some warm clothing if travelling from mid October onwards and also in much of March.
