Introduction - Active Myanmar
Cycling and walking trips to remote monuments, minority villages and wild mountain summits feature on this adventure-filled, 20-day tour.
Starting in Yangon, explore the city using a mix of local train and travelling on foot, an excellent way to get to know the former capital. Travel south to sleepy Mawlamyine, and explore the town and some nearby islands on bicycle. Continue south to Hpa-An and visit some interesting caves, before travelling to Kyaithiyo and visiting the scared and beautiful Golden Rock situation on top of a mountain. Return to Yangon, then fly north to Bagan to discover the many pagodas spread over a vast plain. Explore using a combination of cycling, walking, and horse-cart.
Travel out to a very remote area of Chin state and climb to the peak of Mount Victoria. Discover an area inhabited by the Mun people, and trek through the lush countryside. Fly onto Heho and travel to Inle Lake. Explore by boat, and trek in the surrounding Shan countryside, visiting interesting villages. Return to Yangon for your flight back to the UK.
You travel independently on a departure date of your choice. Internal travel is by bicycle, plane, boat and air-conditioned car.
