Visiting: Sri Lanka
14 day tour from £2195
group (no more than 12 people) or private tour
This tour covers a wonderful variety of Sri Lanka's magnificent sights.
Start with the modern capital of this tropical paradise, Colombo, before moving inland to the 'Cultural Triangle' of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Kandy. Anuradhapura, where Buddhism first came to Sri Lanka, was the country's capital for 1,300 years. The medieval capital, Polonnaruwa, on the shores of a large lake, has a number of historic ruins. After Kandy, home to the temple containing Buddha's tooth, travel to the scenic tea country of Nuwara Eliya.
The picturesque parklands and jungles of the Yala National Park abound in a colourful variety of flora and fauna. Pass through the historic port of Galle, home to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Galle Fort, before ending your holiday with a leisurely couple of days on the sandy beaches of Bentota.
You travel with a small group, accompanied by one of our excellent hand-picked tour escorts. The tour can also be taken independently on a departure date of your choice.
Internal travel is by air-conditioned coach or car, and the international flights on direct services of Sri Lankan Airlines.
