A longer trek, covering the Pokhara valley, dotted with Gurung villages. Ghandrung, at 2042 mts, is the second largest Gurung Village in Nepal. The Gurkha forces serving the British and Indian armies hail from here. This interesting trek normally takes 5 days with another day at Shangri la, Pokhara.

When the Prince of Wales took a break to walk in the hills above Pokhara Valley, the trail acquired the name of "The Royal Trek". The easy paced trek with great views of Annapurna Range and Gurung villages has 3 nights of camping and starts with a drive to the starting point at Hyangja. The route follows Kalikathan, Shyaglung, Chisopani and Bagnas Bazaar. Return to Pokhara for a night at Shangri la, before the flight back to Kathmandu.

A short and interesting trek, for a taste of Himalayan walks, with some steady climbing; the route can be varied to adjust the level of difficulty.

Programme: Day 09: Drive to Sundarijal, 30 kms from Kathmandu. Trek 5 hours to Mulkharka (2400 metres), where you camp for the night. Day 10: Enjoy the sight of the sunrise over the Himalayas. After breakfast trek 6 hours to reach your camping site at Shivapuri (2715 metres), with very fine views of the Valley. Day 11: Descend through the forest to Nagse Monastery where you stop for lunch. Another two hours’ descent to Budhanilkantha ends your short and interesting trek. Drive back to Kathmandu, stay the night at Soaltee or Yak & Yeti. Day 12: Fly back via Delhi.
