On day 16, board an afternoon train from Agra (AC First Class Sleeper), arriving Katni the following morning. Transfer to Bandhavgarh, stay at Nature Heritage or King's Lodge or Monsoon Forest for 3 nights.

Enjoy three days of jungle visits with full board before taking an overnight train back to Delhi (AC First Class). Spend a leisurely day in Delhi, at the Shangri la, before the return flight on day 22.

Meal Plan: Full Board in Bandhavgarh; Bed & breakfast in Delhi; packed dinner on the trains.

Stay on in Agra for an extra night. Next morning take a train to Jhansi and transfer to Khajuraho via Orchha. Stay at the Jass Radisson for 2 nights. Enjoy a son et lumiere show in the evening and visit the Chandela temples next morning.

Fly to Varanasi on day 19 for a night at the Taj Ganges. Visit Sarnath and enjoy a boat ride on the Ganges before flying back to Delhi for a night at The Leela. Return to London on day 21.

Return to Delhi with the group and board the Kalka Mail for an overnight journey (AC First Class) to Kalka. Arrive early morning and change to the narrow-gauge hill train for Shimla, stay 3 nights at the luxury Cecil Hotel. Shimla, at 7000 ft, was the Summer Capital of the Raj and has balmy days and nippy evenings.

After three relaxing days drive down to Kalka for the return journey to Delhi by a day train Stay the night at The Leela. Fly back to London on day 21.

(You can stay the night in Delhi with the group and take the morning train to Kalka on day 9, connecting to another mountain train to Shimla at midday. This option has a supplement of £80 per person. Also you can fly back to Delhi from Chandigarh - this option has a supplement of £65 per person)
