Visiting: India
15 day tour from £2978
private tour
This motorbike safari, along the ancient Trans-Himalayan trade route to obscure villages and monasteries, is an exciting new adventure holiday from TransIndus that packs so much into two weeks.
Start your journey with a train ride from Delhi to Amritsar, and on to the beautiful adobe of the Dalai Lama, Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. The journey continues on the historical India-Tibet road to Sangla valley (near the Tibetan border) in the region known as Kinnaur.
There is a startling change in the landscape as you enter the district of Spiti Valley, visiting Tabo, Kaza and including side trips to Dankar Gompa and the highest village of Kibber (4200 m). The people of Spiti valley have close affinities with Zanskar and Ladakh who are dedicated to the pre-Buddhist Bon religion.
Riding out of the Spiti valley we make our way to the beautiful hill stations of Manali and Shimla. Then it’s a trip on the narrow gauge railway out of the hills and back to Delhi.
Includes international flights, accommodation (based on 2 sharing), use of a 500cc Enfield Bullet bike and fuel, all necessary route books and maps, full support of a team of mechanics and all inner line permits.
From £2,978 for a single rider and £2,828 for a pillion rider.
Meal Plan: Half board
Season: June, July and August
