In June this year one of the rarest astronomical events in our universe will occur, a transit of Venus, when the planet passes directly between Earth and the Sun.
At sunrise you will be able to see Venus, as a small disk, moving across the face of the Sun (as pictured above). This planetary alignment happens in pairs (8 years between them) and the next set won’t be until 2117, with the last being in 1874 and 1882.
So with such a long wait until the next set why not join us on a trip to Ladakh to take in this extraordinary event! Ladakh is ideally suited for viewing the transit due to its high altitude and crystal clear skies in June.
We’ll spend 2 nights in Delhi, 4 nights in Leh, 1 night in Alchi and a night at Tsomoriri Lake, where you will get to observe the transit.
Price: £1,595 per person
Departure: 30 May 2012
Meal plan: bed & Breakfast, full board in Alchi and Tsomoriri Lake.
Price includes international flights, all accommodation, road travel by private car, private sightseeing tours.
Please contact us for more details on the tour.
