Let’s face it, everyone comes to Agra to see the Taj, and from this luxury hotel on the outskirts of town you can actually enjoy a view of the famous mausoleum from your bed.
Ranged over seven storeys, the rooms and suites, like the rest of the building, are decorated in modern-Mughal style, with framed miniatures on the walls and pieces of outsized bidri metalwork standing in the corridors. The crystalline pool, with its Islamic-tiled bed, is set amid neatly cropped lawns, and the restaurants serve wonderful north Indian specialities as well as Continental and Chinese dishes.
