When to visit Oman

OVER 35 YEARS EXPERIENCE AWARD WINNING LUXURY HOLIDAYS 100% FINANCIAL PROTECTION

The best time to visit Oman is between November to mid-March, when maximum daytime temperatures hover around 26 degrees – comparable with a warm summer’s day in northern Europe, and perfect for the beach. The sea is warm enough to swim in without a wetsuit any time of year.

From April onward, the afternoon heat builds and can be too much for outdoor activities, particularly hiking in the lower Wadis and coastal areas. July sees the onset of the annual monsoons in Dhofar. The resulting greenery attracts admirers from across the Gulf States to the province, but the grey skies and regular downpours tend hold less appeal to British visitors, and unless you’ve a particular interest in experiencing the region at this time, we recommend waiting until the return of the blue skies in late October.

Those wishing to time their visit to coincide with the arrival of the green marine turtles should aim for mid-Sept–November. Your TransIndus consultant will have more precise dates (they vary from year to year according to lunar phases).
