Day 1
UK

Fly from the UK to Shanghai.

Day 2
Shanghai

Arrive in Shanghai and transfer to your hotel. Stay at the first class period Ruijin Hotel, Shanghai , for two nights. (Upgrade to the Four Seasons for a supplement.) The remainder of your day is at leisure to rest and refresh after your long flight. Enjoy a guided visit to the famous Bund in the evening.

Shanghai

Morning visit the fascinating Shanghai Museum and Urban Planning Hall. Afterwards visit the Yu Gardens, its surrounding market area and the Children’s Palace. Finish your day with a performance by Chinese Acrobats.

Guilin

Take a morning flight to Guilin and transfer to the standard grade Bravo Hotel for the night. Visit Reed Flute Cave in the afternoon.

Yangshuo

Transfer to Guilin docks to board your cruise down the picturesque Li River to Yangshuo. Stay at the Magnolia hotel, a standard grade character property for two nights. In the evening enjoy the fabulous ‘Liu San Jie’ show, set on the river.

Yangshuo

Start your day with a Tai Chi initiation class with a local master, followed by a guided bicycle ride through the countryside to Moon Hill. You can pay a visit to a local farmer’s home. Enjoy a Bamboo raft ride on Yulong river and visit Xingping fishing village.

Longji

A three hour drive brings you to Longji, where you stay at the Li-An Lodge, Longji , a first class boutique property for two nights. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore the area and take walks in the surrounding rice terraces.

Longji

You have the day at leisure today to explore the surrounds. Known as the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces for the rice terraces on the flanks of a mountain, this area is populated by three ethnic minorities and is one of the scenic and cultural highlights of this part of China.

Sanjiang

Continue by car to Sanjiang to visit Maan Drum Tower and the colourful inhabitants of Dong ethnic villages. Stay at the standard grade Sanjiang Fengyuqiao International Hotel for the night.

Zhaoxing

Drive to Zhaoxing village today, visiting Wind and Rain bridge at Chengyang en-route. Stay at the tourist grade Zhaoxing hotel for two nights. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Zhaoxing

Enjoy a walk to the nearby village of Jitang. Visit a local family home and have lunch with them. Return to Zhaoxing for the remainder of the day at leisure.

Kaili

A long, 8 hours drive brings you to Kaili today. Stay at the standard grade Kaili Heaven-sent Dragon hotel for three nights.

Enjoy a guided tour today to see more of the countryside and do some birdwatching.
