Currently the smartest hotel in Jaffna, the Thinnai is located within easy reach of the city’s railway station. Its rooms and spacious, clean and modern, with all the comforts you’d expect of a three-star in Europe, including a small pool. The service is exceptional – the return of tourism to this part of the island is very welcome, and it shows. Although the décor lacks Sri Lankan character by comparison with other places on this trip, the hotel offers a cool place to break your journey between the cruise and catching a train down to the Cultural Triangle.
