UK

Fly Emirates via Dubai.

Day 2
Bengaluru

Transfer to the luxury Oberoi Hotel, set in beautiful gardens; at leisure, optional orientation tour of the city.

Day 3
Chikmagalur

Drive to Chikmagalur, prime coffee growing area, stay two nights at The Serai, a luxury spa resort.

Day 4
Chikmagalur

Visit the Coffee Museum and the intricately carved Hoysala temples at Belur and Halebid.

Day 5
Mysore

Drive to Mysore, visiting the statue of Gomateshwara at Sravanabelagola; stay two nights at the Windflower Resort and Spa, a boutique property set in greenery in the foothills of the Chamundi Hill.

Day 6
Mysore

Visit the Mysore Palace, Srirangapattinam, Chamundi Hill, Nandi Bull and the Devaraja Market with its riotous colours.

Day 7
Coonoor

Drive to Ooty through the Bandipur and Mudumalai wildlife sanctuaries; board the Nilgiris 'toy train' for a short ride to Coonoor; stay at the colonial Taj Gateway; at leisure to enjoy the tea country, the Sims Park is a short walk away

Day 8
Cochin

A long drive to Cochin for two nights at the Malabar House, a Relais and Chateaux boutique hotel.

Day 9
Cochin

Visit the Dutch Palace, St Francis Church and the Chinese fishing nets; evenings a sunset cruise and a Kathakali dance performance.

Day 10
Alleppey / Riceboat

Visit the Jewish Synagogue at Mattancherry in the morning, proceed to Alleppey to board your Riceboat for the night; cruise along the backwaters, observing local life along the banks (there is the option of staying at Purity, a small boutique hotel on the backwaters, instead of boarding the riceboat).

Day 11
Periyar

Drive to Periyar for two nights at the Shalimar Spice Garden, a boutique property in a cardamom plantation.

Day 12
Periyar

Visit spice plantations and enjoy a plantation lunch; enjoy a boat ride on Lake Periyar to spot wild elephants.

Day 13
Madurai

To Madurai, descending the ghats, through the plains of Tamil Nadu with vineyards, paddy fields and busy market towns; stay at the Heritage, a charming hotel in ethnic style; visit the famous Meenakshi Temple, a grand spectacle of Dravidian architecture.

Day 14
Kovalam

A long drive to the lively beach village of Kovalam for some relaxation at the luxury Leela Beach Resort or the elegant boutique resort of Surya Samudra; at leisure.

Day 15
Kovalam

Day at leisure.

Kovalam, UK

Return flight from Trivandrum via Dubai.
