Trongsa, Bhutan
Clinging to the flank of a steep, verdant valley, the Yangkhill sits bang opposite the spectacular Trongsa Dzo, one of Bhutan’s largest monasteries.
Views over rice terraces to the Mande River extend from its prettily landscaped garden, where a water-driven prayer wheel and fish pond are framed by lawns and brakes of bamboo. The 21 chalet-style rooms are comfortably furnished, with thick mattresses and wood floors, and the tiled bathrooms are large.
