The city of Guiyang accommodates all travellers as there is plenty to see and do. Great for relaxing in is the riverside area and the local teahouses. In terms of shopping, there are plenty of shops amongst maze-like streets, delicious street food to try, and bustling markets.

Wenchang Pavilion dates back to the Ming Dynasty, and along with the old city walls has been refurbished to its former glory. Cuiwei Yuan is a collection of pagodas worth visiting, which are set in bonsai tree gardens and are near to Miao embroidery shops.

For a museum visit, the Provincial Museum and Guiyang Art Museum can be recommended, which display traditional clothing and contemporary art respectively.
