‘Blissful’ is the word best used to describe this tiny hideaway on the remote Gili Island of Trawangan, off the northwest coast of Lombok. From Bali, direct boat transfers run to the hotel, which backs a secluded stretch of beach outside the main resort area. Once installed, you’re unlikely to want to venture much further than the veranda of your traditional Indonesian chalet. Each has a sea view and direct access to the sand. There’s a saltwater pool, with under lights for nocturnal dips, and sunset suppers on the beach – an experience not to be missed.
