Kyrgyzstan’s astounding landscapes hold huge potential for all kinds of outdoor activities, and over the years we have been running tours to Kyrgyzstan, we’ve built up a great network of  partners on the ground to ensure you’ll be in safe hands, whether you opt to hike, bike, horse ride, raft or a combination of all four.

We base our active-outdoor trips on key locations that lend themselves well to different pursuits. So, for horse riding, beautiful Song Kül lake is our chosen spot due to the quality of the horses and yurt (ger) accommodation on offer, and because the scenery is so magnificent, while for mountain biking, we favour the Alpine valleys around Naryn, in central Kyrgyzstan.

The Ala-Too mountains, the northern part of the Tian Shan range, offer the best trekking. Depending on how much time you have to spare, you could go for the fabulous six-day route over the Telety Pass to Ala Kol lake and the Arashan Valley, or choose the shorter two- or three-day loops in the same area. Whichever itinerary you end up following, you’re guaranteed a memorable experience of pristine wilderness, with plenty of opportunity for swims in turquoise glacial lakes, crashing streams and hot springs. You’ll also get to see an eagle hunter demonstrating his skills on the shores of Issyk Kul lake, and spend a night at a remote caravanserai in the Tian Shan.

Mountain lovers should also not pass up the chance of a close encounter with Kyrgyzstan’s highest peaks, Khan Tegri (7,010m) and Pobeda (7,439m). – via a thrilling helicopter flight to South Inylchek Base Camp.
