Sukau, Malaysia and Borneo

The first lodge in the Kinabatangan Basin area based on ecotourism principles, the tourist grade Sukau Lodge provides a great wildlife experience whilst preserving the Kinabatangan flood-plain community. The 20 roomed resort is based on Malaysian longhouse architecture and thus is built on high stilts above the river banks backing onto the rainforest. The rooms are clean with twin beds, private bathrooms and hot and cold showers and are air conditioned - the emphasis of the lodge is nature, not pampered luxury!
