What is Toddy?

Toddy is a mildly alcoholic brew made from palm sap that Keralan men traditionally enjoy after a day spent fishing or farming. It’s prepared in local bars, or toddy shops, which also serve tea and snacks, including some deliciously spicy seafood dishes (eaten off banana leaves).

About this Toddy Tour

This tour takes you to a reliable toddy shop whose cooking and hygiene standards we can vouch for. You will travel there across Kerala's backwaters on a traditional canoe in the warm light of late afternoon. Arriving at the Toddy Shop, you will learn the history of Toddy brewing and get to see how the toddy is made as well as try a few samples.
