Housed in a beautiful, late 19th century palace, Amar Mahal is an atmospheric place to stay in the Bundelas’ ruined capital. Neatly cream-washed onion domes and pierced stone jali screens surround its graceful, Mughal-style charbagh garden. The rooms are huge, cool and light, and finely decorated with traditional, hand-painted floral motifs and gilt work plastering their ceilings and archways. The hotel’s Ayurvedic spa offers restorative treatments.
