This government-run property lacks the historic patina and plum location of Ahilya Fort, but it provides a comfortable base at a quiet location on the western edge of town. With a choice of rooms, larger suites and chalets, it is set in a campus of leafy gardens close to the riverbank, and has a small multi-cuisine restaurant. Service and maintenance standards are not of the highest order, but our clients consider the Narmada Retreat great value for money and comfortable enough for a three-night stay in this atmospheric riverside town.
