Tel Aviv, Israel
Situated in one of the first buildings to be built outside of the Old City Walls in the 19th Century, The Jaffa is a unique heritage property in the heart of Tel Aviv’s historic port. The renaissance building was beautifully restored by architect Ramy Gill and a new contemporary wing added creating a stunning contrast. The centrepiece in the entrance to The Jaffa is a section of a 13th century Crusader wall which was uncovered in excavations conducted by the Antiquities Authority in preparation for the renovation and preservation project. The rooms designed by John Pawson in his signature minimalist style, have custom made furniture, sumptuous beds and lavish bathrooms. The two restaurants, one Italian and one Israeli will keep you well fed, and the old chapel is now a stylish lounge bar. There is also an outdoor pool, a fitness centre and spa.
