Kerala Holidays, India

Immerse yourself in the topical profusion of Wayanad’s mountains at this wonderful new plantation stay. A huge amount of time and money has been lavished on the 140-year-old British building that form the core of the 200-acre estate, which produces coffee and spices. The bungalow holds two independent suites, both handsomely styled using an array of polished local hardwoods. We particularly love the verandahs wrapped around the upper storey under low-slung eaves – a great vantage point from which to savour the sights and sounds of the surrounding forest.

This is a particularly good place to come if you enjoy walking. Numerous trails of various lengths extend from the property around the estate, which is rich in plant and birdlife. There’s also a delightful little spa tucked away in its own separate pavilion – perfect for a restorative Ayurvedic massage. During our last visit, a good sized pool was also nearing completion.
