Kandy, Kandy and the Tea Country, Sri Lanka

Just five minutes from Kandy city centre, you will find an oasis that is the Stone House. This colonial house was built in 1940 and was called ‘Gal Bangalawa’ translated as the house made of stone. With just five rooms, you can be assured of personal attention. Each of the rooms is individually decorated with art work by local artists. There are three rooms and for some added indulgence, two suites.

There is a pool and spa treatments are available on request. Stone House also has mountain bikes if you want to explore Kandy at your own pace. The afternoon tea is the perfect treat after exploring the sites of Kandy. Because of the small size of the property, there are no set times for meals and you can choose to dine indoors or outdoors. If you want to learn more about Sri Lankan cuisine then the chef will be more than happy to share with you some of the special recipes he has created.
