Ajesh

Accounts Manager

Ajesh is our main money man, taking care of company finances from TransIndus HQ in South Ealing. Born and raised in Mumbai, he studied for a degree in accountancy before joining a shipping company, and has since worked mainly in the travel sector, both in India and the UK.  As the person responsible for handling payments to our many partners and suppliers worldwide, he has been instrumental in building the strong relationships that underpin TransIndus operations throughout Asia.

When not crunching numbers, Ajesh enjoys concocting authentic Indian flavours from British ingredients. “Give me anything, and I’ll make a beautiful dish” is his often repeated claim. He also loves playing rugby and cricket with his son.

And for the curious - Ajesh has not hurt the cub, just holding one which was injured and being nursed by the rangers!

Travel high

Wildlife safari, South Africa: “I held a lion cub in my hand once, and have a picture to prove it”.

 Favourite hotel

“You can’t beat a houseboat on the Kerala backwaters. My family is Malayali and I spent a lot of my childhood holidays enjoying the freedom of life around the waterways. Gliding along in a converted barge is a very relaxing way to experience this unique part of the world.”

 Travel tip

“Again, I’d have to say Kerala. You’ve got beaches, backwaters, mountains, jungles, national parks and tea plantations all relatively close together. And the food is superb. In any town you’ll find a local restaurant serving amazing rice meals – full of complex, spicy flavours, and very healthy.”
