Flora

Sales Manager: Journeys East Team

Flora attributes her travel addiction in part to growing up in the Cotswolds - riding horses from a young age allowed her to explore the surrounding fields and hills with great freedom - and also to the many family holidays spent in Europe and the Middle East.

After realising the financial industry was not for her, she embarked on a round-the-world adventure with only her passport, backpack and best friend. On her return, a career in tailor-made luxury travel seemed an appealing option, not least because it allows her to travel regularly, keeping her wanderlust well fed! And as well as a keen horse rider, she is a qualified Advanced Open Water scuba diver.

Flora joined the TransIndus team in September 2019 and has a wealth of knowledge of all things China and Japan related. She's also pretty well travelled around Southeast Asia too!

Travel High

"Diving off the coast of Koh Lanta, I encountered a playful manta ray. I'd been hoping to see one of these majestic creatures for almost 10 years and was not disappointed: at almost six meters wide, it seemed to totally take over the surroundings."

Favourite Hotel

"Six Senses Krabey Island. Set in a jungle paradise on its own private island in the Gulf of Thailand, this hotel takes wellness to a whole new level. You can practise aerial yoga, kayak and snorkel your way around the coast, try spa treatments you will never have heard of or simply just relax by your private pool. And the food is wonderful . . . It's pure bliss!"

Travel Tip

"When planning a trip to Indonesia, you must go to the lesser-visited Indonesian side of Borneo, Kalimantan. Staying on a private houseboat gives you a better chance of seeing wildlife while cruising along the jungle rivers. On my last trip I spotted baby crocodiles, orangutans, proboscis monkeys, toucans and kingfishers to name a few!"
