Japan's first 'personalised' boutique hotel, this recently renovated hotel in downtown Kyoto has 13 rooms, with no two rooms the same, all created by different designers - a unique concept in Japan. All rooms are fresh and modern, and themes include, the forest room, the mirror room, traditional Japanese with sliding painted doors and, being situated right next door to Shimogoryo-Jinja Shrine, there is one room whose focus is the fantastic views over it.  There is a refined French restaurant, a café and a roof top bar, open during the summer.
